Jacques Pellegrin

His art

Before discovering impressionism, Jacques Pellegrin’s style began as classical and realistic, with portraits, landscapes and still life. It then became more modern and representative of its times under the influence of Fauvism and French expressionism. His paintings, with their bright colors, warm atmosphere and thick black strokes, all tell a tale and sometimes even unearth memories.

His life

Born in 1944 and deceased in 2021, Jacques Pellegrin began painting at the age of eight and was awarded a prize by the art world of Aix en Provence at eleven. After studying translation and interpretation as well as German, he began to teach. In 1980 however, he dedicated himself solely to painting while studying German expressionism.
